Wave transmission at low-crested structures

This paper investigates the wave transmission through artificial reefs utilised as low-crested breakwaters to mitigate coastal erosion and reduce energy. The study utilises DualSPHysics smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) solver evaluate effectiveness of such structures. Wave coefficients were computed for various reef configurations conditions. Results indicate that shifted configuration provides a higher level height reduction non-breaking waves, while there is no significant difference breaking waves. further reveals efficiency breakwater decreases with an increase in steepness. However, total energy significantly decreases, leading gradual it travels from breakwater. outcomes this research can aid optimisation design protection.
